The Australian pyrotechnic team began the night with a mesmerizing pyrotechnic gig.

It is forecast to be a candidate for the championship title of this year’s festival.

With a perfect combination of fireworks and vibrant dance music, the performance excited the audience.

A highlight of the performance was special and spectacular lighting effects.

Nguyen Van Hung, a Da Nang resident, said the show by the Australian team was special and the team deserved the trophy of the festival this year.

“Sound and lighting effects were consistent to lead the audience to many overwhelming moments,” Hung commented.

Meanwhile, the Italian pyrotechnic team’s performance was softer.

The team made its name with its own highlights by applying new effects.

Nguyen Thanh Van, a tourist from Hanoi, said each team had their own strengths and provided the audience with profound impressions.

“You have to directly admire the display to see the brilliance of fireworks performances of international teams," Van said.

“I believe that those who have directly enjoyed fireworks shows will understand my feelings.

"They are much more stunning than what I have watched on TV."

Australia was the champion of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival 2015, and Italy won the title in 2017 and 2018.

The Da Nang International Fireworks Festival 2023, themed 'The World without Distance,' takes place from June 2 to July 8 on a stage along the bank of the Han River in Da Nang.

The event sees participation from seven international pyrotechnic teams from the UK, Italy, Poland, France, Australia, Canada, Finland, as well as a team from Da Nang.

The Vietnamese and Finnish teams competed following the festival’s opening ceremony on June 2.

Canada and France took turns to compete in the second display on Saturday last week.

Pyrotechnic teams from Poland and the UK will have their turn on Saturday next week.
